Azuay Prepares For More Than 600,000 Voters In November Local Elections

Azuay's November election planning is getting more concrete for residents who follow local government.
The province will have more than 600,000 voters for the November local election, choosing a prefect, 15 mayors, 53 urban councilors, 32 rural councilors, 305 parish-board members, and 7 CPCCS councilors.
Local Voting Changes
Azuay is expected to install 272 voting precincts, including new spaces in Ludo and Serag in Sígsig.
That change is meant to let more than 300 rural voters vote at their local community house instead of traveling to other precincts.
Calendar To Watch
Political alliances can be formed until July 18. Candidate lists can be registered from August 2 through August 17.
Members of the vote-receiving boards will be selected in September, with about 14,500 citizens chosen for Azuay's tables.
The campaign period runs from November 12 through November 27, ahead of the Sunday, November 29 election.
