ETAPA Says Milchichig-Tank Areas Should See Water Return After 6 PM

A water-main break is affecting parts of Cuenca supplied by the Milchichig tank today, with ETAPA saying service should start coming back this evening.
ETAPA reported the outage on Wednesday, July 1, after a 315 mm potable-water main broke. The company identified affected areas including Hospital del IESS, Seminario de Monay and Condominios del IESS.
When Service Should Return
ETAPA said repair work was expected to finish at approximately 17:00, with service returning progressively starting around 18:00.
For residents, that usually means two practical things: first, do not expect every building to recover at exactly the same minute; second, if your building has a cistern or rooftop tank, pressure may take longer to normalize.
What To Do
If you are in one of the affected areas, conserve stored water until pressure is clearly back. If water returns cloudy at first, let it run briefly before using it for cooking or drinking.
This looks like a same-day repair, not a long scheduled suspension, but the useful marker is after 6 PM for progressive restoration.
