Cuenca's Job Fair Returns May 5 — 15 Companies Hiring, Walk-Ins Welcome

The Details
The IV Feria de Empleo Joven "Oportunidades que Transforman Vidas" takes place on Monday, May 5, 2026 from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
Venue: Galería Atenas at the Portal Artesanal, run by the Empresa Municipal de Desarrollo Económico (EDEC EP) at Casa del Obrero.
Companies: 15 private companies with HR teams conducting on-site interviews.
Expected attendance: Approximately 1,000 people.
Who Can Go
Despite the "joven" (youth) branding, the age range is broad: men and women aged 20 to 45. That covers a lot of people.
Education levels welcomed:
- High school graduates
- Non-graduates (incomplete secondary)
- Technologists
- University-level professionals
This isn't exclusively entry-level — if you're a professional looking for a new position, you qualify.
How It Works
- No registration required — walk-in format
- Bring: Updated folders with your personal data (CV, copies of cédula/ID, education certificates)
- Each attendee can apply to at least three different companies
- Interviews happen on-site — HR teams are there to evaluate, not just collect resumes
What This Means for You
This is relevant to expats in a few ways:
- If you employ household staff (housekeepers, gardeners, drivers) who are looking for additional or different work, point them to this fair
- If you have adult children in Cuenca looking for professional positions, the 20–45 range and multi-level education acceptance means most qualify
- If you run a business in Cuenca and need staff, this is where motivated applicants gather — 1,000 people in one morning
The venue (Casa del Obrero / Portal Artesanal) is near El Centro. Arrive early — the first hour typically has the shortest lines.
