Cuenca forest fires: June–July 2026 report
On July 23, El Mercurio reported figures from Cuenca's municipal risk office covering June 1 through July 21, 2026: 51 forest fires had affected 46.7 hectares of vegetation in the canton. Its report said San Joaquín accounted for 25 of those hectares.
