Cuenca's Property Registry Now Takes Card Payments Online

One less office trip is always welcome.
Cuenca's Property Registry activated a new card-payment button on June 15, so users can handle online registry procedures through the institution's virtual window and pay digitally instead of going to the office just to finish the payment step.
How It Works
The process is meant to run through the registry's institutional portal:
-
Enter the Property Registry portal
-
Choose Ventanilla Virtual
-
Complete the request digitally
-
Pay online by card
-
Submit the procedure from any device with an internet connection
The office says the online option is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, from anywhere.
Why Expats Should Care
If you own property, are buying, are selling, are checking property history, or are helping a landlord or attorney move paperwork along, registry procedures can become a slow little bottleneck. This does not make the whole real-estate system magically simple, but it does remove one very Cuenca-flavored friction point: having to physically move across town for a payment step.
The registry framed the change as part of its modernization process, with internal process improvements aimed at reducing dispatch and delivery times for registry procedures.
Practical Takeaway
If you have a pending registry errand, check whether it can now be started through Ventanilla Virtual before you assume you need to go in person. For expats outside Cuenca or coordinating paperwork from abroad, the 24/7 online-payment piece may be especially useful.
