Cuenca's New Southern Bus Terminal in Narancay Reaches 50% Completion, Promising Enhanced Services

Cuenca's new Southern Bus Terminal, located in the Narancay sector, has reached a significant milestone, with construction now 50% complete. This substantial project represents an investment of USD 9.6 million and is designed to enhance the travel experience for residents and visitors alike.

The new terminal is being built on a 27,000 square meter plot and will feature two floors dedicated to providing comprehensive services. According to Ángel Malán, the architectural area coordinator for the work, the assembly of the terminal's metallic structure is nearing completion. Simultaneously, other construction and finishing tasks are progressing.

Currently, workers are focused on placing the roof and undertaking plastering and wall filling in areas designated for ticket offices, transport company offices, and warehouses. Outside, platforms for bus entry and exit are under construction, while interior electrical installations are advancing. The structures for a panoramic elevator are already in place, and the terminal will ultimately include two elevators and escalators to facilitate user movement between its various areas.

The design emphasizes a comfortable and functional experience for users. The terminal will offer a waiting room, commercial premises, a banking area, and pharmacies, among other services. The second floor is planned to host a food court and cafeterias. Additionally, exterior areas will provide parking for private vehicles and taxis, addressing a common need for travelers.
