Cuenca Forecast Calls for Morning and Afternoon Rain, With High UV

Cuenca is getting the kind of highland forecast that rewards a two-part plan. Ecuavisa reported on August 25, 2026, at 5:25 a.m. that Ecuador's weather service, INAMHI, expected variable skies and rain across parts of the country.

Rain is expected twice in Cuenca

The forecast says rain is expected in Cuenca during the morning and afternoon. That does not mean every neighborhood will receive the same amount, but it is enough to rethink a day built around a long walk, an outdoor errand, or a trip across town without a light waterproof layer.

The same report says the Costa forecast includes isolated rain, with Santo Domingo seeing precipitation in the early morning, afternoon, and night, and Quevedo seeing it in the early morning and afternoon. The Amazon region was expected to have generalized rain, including Nueva Loja, El Coca, Tena, Shell Mera, Macas, Gualaquiza, and Zamora throughout the day.

That broader pattern is useful context for expats planning travel between regions. Conditions can change substantially between Cuenca and the coast or Amazon, so a city forecast should not be treated as a national forecast.
