The centerpiece is April 12 — the anniversary of Cuenca's Spanish founding in 1557 — which is a local holiday. That means banks, government offices, and many businesses will be closed. But the festivities extend well beyond a single day.
What We Know So Far
The municipality has announced 100+ events across the festival period. While the full schedule is still being finalized, here's what's been confirmed:
Concerts
- Andrés Cepeda — The Colombian pop/romantic star is confirmed for April 11. Venue TBA (likely Teatro Casa de la Cultura or an outdoor stage). If you know his music — "Día Tras Día," "El Mensaje" — this will be a packed show
- Devendra Banhart — The Venezuelan-American indie folk artist performs at Teatro Pumapungo on April 11. Two big concerts on the same night — plan accordingly
