San Joaquin Chocolate Festival Runs July 3 And 4 In Cuenca

Cuenca has a very easy weekend plan if you like chocolate.
The first Entre Molinos y Chocolates festival is scheduled for Friday, July 3, from 3 PM to 9 PM, and Saturday, July 4, from noon to 6 PM, at Esquina de las Artes, across from Teatro Carlos Cueva Tamariz.
What Will Be There
The participating chocolate brands are Ecuadeli Chocolate, La Purita, Chocolate Don Manuel, Patawasi Chocolate and La Florida Chocolates.
The event is being organized with several zones: an expo-fair area for product display and sales, an artisan area, a stage area for tastings and demonstrations, and a food-and-drinks area for people who want to linger a bit.
Why Expats Might Like It
This is the kind of event that is easy to miss if you are not reading Spanish local listings. It is also a low-commitment way to explore a Cuenca-area food tradition without turning it into a whole-day trip.
If you go, aim for earlier in the window if you want the easiest browsing. Food events here can get busy quickly once families start arriving.
