Cuenca-Quito Flights Are Reprogrammed Saturday for Quito Airport Maintenance

If you are flying between Cuenca and Quito this Saturday, check your flight time before heading to the airport.
El Mercurio reports that flights between Cuenca and Quito will change on Saturday, May 30, 2026, because of preventive runway maintenance at Mariscal Sucre International Airport in Quito.
Quito Airport Closure Window
Quiport reported that operations at the Quito terminal will be suspended from 02:00 to 14:00.
The passenger building will continue operating normally.
Cuenca-Related LATAM Changes
El Mercurio reports that LATAM reprogrammed two flights tied to Cuenca:
- LA1402, arrival from Cuenca to Quito: reprogrammed for 18:08
- LA1401, departure from Quito to Cuenca: reprogrammed for 15:45
Quiport said airlines notified passengers directly, but also recommended checking each flight's updated status with the corresponding airline.
For expats, this is one of those small travel disruptions that can ruin a connection if you miss the message. Check your airline app, email and WhatsApp before leaving for the airport.
