Cuenca RTV: Plate Ending 7 Is Due in August. Here Is How to Book It

If your vehicle plate ends in 7, August is your mandatory month for the Revisión Técnica Vehicular (RTV) in Cuenca. The inspection is part of the process for keeping a vehicle eligible for matriculation and checks mechanical, safety, and environmental conditions.

Who needs the inspection?

The August requirement applies to:

• Private vehicles
• Taxis and commercial-transport units
• Cargo vehicles
• Buses and other public-transport units
• Motorcycles

The inspection covers the brakes, steering and suspension, tire condition, lights and signaling, bodywork, emissions, and, where applicable, opacity and noise.
