Cuenca Tram Service Temporarily Suspended This Weekend for Essential Maintenance

Cuenca's tram users should note a temporary suspension of service scheduled for this upcoming weekend. The Cuenca tram will halt operations from Saturday, September 19, through Sunday, September 20, 2026.

The municipal tram directorate has indicated that this temporary closure is necessary for Public Works personnel to carry out important maintenance. The work involves the replacement of cobblestones at two significant intersections: Gran Colombia and Coronel Talbot streets, and Mariscal Lamar and Coronel Talbot streets. This essential upkeep aims to ensure the continued smooth and safe operation of the tram system.

For those planning to use the tram on Saturday, September 19, please be aware that service will operate until 19:00. The very last service departing from Parque Industrial towards Río Tarqui will be at 19:34. Normal tram activity is scheduled to resume early on Sunday, September 20, starting at 05:50.
