Cuenca's June 2026 World Cup viewing plan
Before Ecuador's June 2026 group matches, Cuenca announced public giant-screen viewing at three different central squares. This page preserves the announced locations and dates. The matches are past; it is not a guide to a current screening.
Three matches, three public places
El Mercurio's June 9 report said the municipality planned a screen at Plaza San Francisco for Ecuador's June 14 match against Côte d'Ivoire, at the Parque Calderón hemicycle for the June 20 Curaçao match, and at Plaza Otorongo for the June 25 Germany match. The corresponding announced kickoff times were 6 p.m., 7 p.m. and 3 p.m.
The plan used separate gathering places rather than one permanent fan zone. On a map, San Francisco and Parque Calderón sit within the historic center; Otorongo is another named public square in the municipality's tourist map. That spread made the program relevant to people who live in different parts of central Cuenca, even though each date had its own location.
How to use this archive
For a future public screening, verify the organizer, date and location from a current announcement. An old match plan cannot establish whether screens were installed as announced or whether the same squares will host later events. The municipal tourist map is useful for finding these squares independently of any event.
