Cuenca Will Set Up Three Giant Screens for Ecuador's World Cup Matches

If you want to watch Ecuador's World Cup matches with a crowd, Cuenca will have three public viewing spots.
The Municipality will set up giant screens for Ecuador's three group-stage matches in the 2026 World Cup.
The Public Viewing Schedule
Sunday, June 14, 18:00
Ecuador vs. Costa de Marfil
Plaza San Francisco
Saturday, June 20, 19:00
Ecuador vs. Curazao
Hemiciclo del Parque Calderon
Thursday, June 25, 15:00
Ecuador vs. Alemania
Plaza Otorongo
What To Expect
These are central, easy-to-find public spaces, so expect crowds, street vendors and plenty of yellow jerseys.
For the first two matches, plan your transport home carefully. The bus-service conflict is still affecting night mobility, and the June 14 match starts at 18:00, close to the current 19:00 bus cutoff.
What This Means For Expats
This is one of those low-effort ways to feel the city. You do not need to be a football expert to enjoy the atmosphere when Ecuador plays.
Go early if you want a good viewing spot, keep your phone and wallet secure in the crowd, and think through your ride home before kickoff.
