UCuenca’s Fito Páez Audition Applications Close September 19

The Universidad de Cuenca is accepting applications through September 19, 2026, for solo singers in “Fito Páez: Tributo sinfónico,” El Mercurio reports. The production will bring the Argentine musician’s repertoire together with the university’s symphony orchestra and polyphonic choir.
Who can apply
The call is specifically for Ecuadorian artists over 18. Applicants must have an RUC as a musical artist and no impediment to employment with the State.
They also need availability for rehearsals and performances between November 9 and 21, during afternoon and evening hours. These eligibility conditions matter when sharing the opportunity with friends or musicians in the community.
The first step is a video
Applicants must submit two songs from the established repertoire. The recording must contain no cuts or audio or video editing, and the songs must remain in their original keys.
Interested singers should review the repertoire, complete the application form linked in the source report and provide their video link. The initial submission deadline is September 19.
What happens after selection
Shortlisted candidates will attend an in-person audition on September 26 from 9 a.m. in the university’s Sala de Elencos. They may use an instrumental backing track or accompanying musicians.
Performances are scheduled for November 20 and 21. The current announcement concerns the selection process; it does not provide a concert venue or audience-ticket details.
