University Of Cuenca Brings El Amor Brujo To The Stage This Week

The University of Cuenca Symphony Orchestra and the University of Cuenca Dance Company are bringing El Amor Brujo to the stage this week.

The performances are scheduled for July 16 and 17, 2026, at 20:00, in the Teatro Carlos Cueva Tamariz. Admission is free.
The staging combines music, dance, and singing, with musical direction by William Vergara, choreography by David Arias, and invited artists.
Why It Stands Out
The work by Spanish composer Manuel de Falla follows Candela, a woman trying to rebuild her life with Carmelo after the death of her husband, whose specter returns to block the new relationship.
