Gualaceo's 202nd cantonization festivities run through June 27, with a smaller calendar than past years because of COOTAD funding changes. The highlights include the Cholita Gualacena election, the queen's coronation, the civic-student parade, the solemn session, the cantonization show and a provincial BMX race.
EMUCE has scheduled Father's Day activities at Cuenca's Cementerio Patrimonial for Saturday, June 20, and Sunday, June 21. The program includes evening and morning Masses, followed by serenades in sector B of the cemetery.

The Cuenca Symphony Orchestra will premiere four Ecuadorian works on June 12 at Teatro Pumapungo. The concert is free, starts at 8 PM, and brings about 60 musicians to a contemporary program led by Andrea Vela.

Corpus Christi continues today around the Catedral de la Inmaculada Concepcion and Parque Calderon. The June 8 schedule includes Masses throughout the day, a 20:00 procession, and castle burning expected after 20:30.
The Cuenca Philharmonic will perform a free concert on June 11 at 20:00 at the Teatro de la Casa de la Cultura. The program brings together Andean sounds, Ecuadorian traditions, blues, funk, samba, festejo and Jazz de Barro.
Cuenca's tram will run commercial service until 22:30 from June 4 through June 12 for Corpus Christi. Final units are expected to leave each terminal station at 22:30, with frequencies reduced to 10 minutes.
Corpus Christi runs around Parque Calderon through June 11, bringing large crowds to the Centro Historico. Police are urging visitors to keep belongings visible, use authorized parking, and teach children how to find help if separated.
