Cuenca Has Scheduled Power Cuts Again This Weekend

Cuenca has another weekend of scheduled power cuts coming.
El Mercurio reports that Centrosur will carry out programmed outages in Cuenca on June 6 and 7.
The Energy and Environment Ministry said the work is tied to electrical-infrastructure intervention for possible effects from El Nino.
The Weekend Windows
El Mercurio reports two main time windows for Cuenca:
- Saturday, June 6, from 06:00 to 10:00 in parts of the Miguel Heredia, Miguel Velez and Rafael Maria Arizaga area
- Saturday, June 6, from 09:00 to 13:00 in the Patapamba and El Verde area
- Sunday, June 7, from 06:00 to 10:00 in parts of the Remigio Crespo, San Roque, El Batan and 12 de Abril area
- Sunday, June 7, from 09:00 to 13:00 in the Patapamba and El Verde area
The same type of programmed suspension already happened on May 30 and 31.
The government also said electricity will not be charged on bills for the days of the cuts.
What To Do
If your home, building or business is anywhere near one of the listed areas, check the exact Centrosur schedule before making weekend plans.
Charge phones and battery packs Friday night, keep elevators in mind if you live in an apartment building, and avoid starting laundry, baking or long computer work right before the listed windows.
What This Means For Expats
These are scheduled cuts, not surprise blackouts. That makes them annoying but manageable.
The main trap is assuming your block is unaffected because the headline says "Cuenca" in general. Check your building group, your landlord, or Centrosur's official channels for your exact sector.
