Sevilla De Oro Road Paving Aims To Make Collay Easier To Reach

A short stretch of road in Sevilla de Oro is getting a practical upgrade for residents and visitors.
The Azuay provincial government is placing asphalt on the road from the Río Collay bridge to Padre Albino del Curto street, in the section between the bridge over the Collay River and the Urcochagra River.
The project is meant to strengthen connectivity to an important tourist attraction and improve mobility for people in the area.
The Work Underway
Asfaltar EP, the provincial public company, is carrying out the work with an investment of more than $291,404.
The asphalt placement is expected to finish during the current week.
The intervention covers 600 meters of road and will directly benefit close to 8,964 residents of Palmas, La Unión, San Vicente, Sevilla de Oro, and El Pan.
Why It Matters For Azuay Travel
The road work is expected to improve conditions for vehicle traffic, product transport, and access to services.
Rosa Campoverde, a local resident, said an asphalted road is important because it encourages visitors and energizes the local economy, benefiting restaurants, shops, and other ventures.
For people who like Azuay day trips, the basic point is easy to understand: better road access can make a place easier to visit, but it also changes the rhythm of a small local economy.
